Honda has unveiled the Civic Hatchback Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, building upon the recently launched Honda Civic Sedan, which is set to enter Thailand on March 11th. It comes in the form of a concept car to showcase its cutting-edge and fully aggressive design.
The exterior design emphasizes increased sportiness compared to the sedan model, with a large, dark front grille, a front bumper with large air intakes, and a full body kit. The overall dimensions of the car are 30 mm wider, 20 mm lower, and 130 mm longer compared to the sedan model. It looks good with approximately 18-19 inch alloy wheels, along with sharp creases on the sides of the car. As for the rear, it features a sporty bumper with large air intakes and twin exhaust pipes positioned in the center.
If viewed from the front, the roofline of the car may not differ much from the sedan model. This is because the sedan model also designed the rear to be similar to a Sportback car. However, when viewed from the side and rear, it is found that the rear roofline slopes down until it meets the edge of the tailgate.
The production version of the Honda Civic Hatchback is scheduled for launch in 2017 for the European market. It will be manufactured by Honda of the UK Manufacturing for export to various regions worldwide. For Thai fans, we will have to wait and see if it will be imported for sale or assembled locally alongside the Honda Civic Sedan at that time.
